Last look at Santa Barbara - March 8th

Before we left Santa Barbara, we wanted to see the beach and wharf. From the pier we looked up to the highest peak and imagined what it must have been like for George who ran from pier to peak in under 2 hours. A maniac, but a fit maniac. We were less energetic. We just strolled along the beachside path with the dog walkers and skateboarders. The weather was idyllic and we wandered to the end of the pier to watch the people fishing. Frank Sinatra was playing in more than one surf and turf restaurant. This place must have a flaw. Nowhere can be this perfect can it?
